Story
Our story, like many, was born out of a specific need. One of our founders suffers from chronically dry skin, made even worse in winter months, and found lotions to offer only temporary relief. In a search for information on this condition and its causes, we found the National Institutes of Health and its database. Over the next two years, we relentlessly researched the human skin and any information related to skin dysfunction. This led to the topical application of vegetable oils for enhancement or repair of skin conditions. The research material available on this subject is extensive. Our product The Nectar is directly crafted from our exposure to this material. We have selected some of the more significant papers and listed links to them on our research material page. These links take you directly to the NIH website. Our intention in all of this was to create a product that is natural and useful, and we believe we have done that. Our bath ritual is a very simple plan to give your skin what it needs to be it's very best, at any age.
The Nectar
The nectar is a blend of eight natural oils that have been chosen for their individual benefits for the skin, but also because they combine and complement one another. The nectar is intended for topical application to the skin. The combination of essential fatty acids, unsaturated vitamins and bioactive compounds in this blend promotes healthier skin and a natural radiant glow. By delivering linoleic acid to the living layers of the skin, the Nectar, with continued use, will modulate or reverse the effects of Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL). The bioactive compounds including, but not limited to Tocopherol, Resveratrol, Squalene, etc. scavenge the living layers of the skin, devouring free radical damage and reversing signs of photo aging. The fatty acid profile not only penetrates deeply to the living layers of the skin, but conditions and hydrates the surface layer of skin for a lasting softness and increased hydration level. The Nectar is intended for anyone who wants to have better looking healthier skin, but it is designed for use by people who are expressing age related symptoms such as photo aging, loss of elasticity & persistent dryness(xerosis).
Skincare starts at the top of your head and ends with the soles of your feet.
The Ritual
This process involves three steps start to finish.
Step 1. Take a shower and wash your hair and body thoroughly.
Step 2. Take a hot bath and use our product, The Nectar, per our instructions on how to make the nectar.
Step 3. Exit your bath and gently wipe your skin with a clean, soft towel and apply a generous amount of lotion to your entire body.
That's really all there is to it; take a shower, take a bath, and put on some lotion. Everyone understands take a shower and put on some lotion, it's the bath part that we need to be descriptive about.
